Summer Women’s Wilderness Retreat 18-19 July

£195.00

Our Women’s Wilderness Retreat is the perfect balance of learning practical skills and rewilding ourselves to live more in tune with nature, something we believe the world needs now more than ever.

Some have described our retreats as the adventure they’d been craving, while others say it’s the retreat they didn’t know they needed. We think it’s both!

Throughout the retreat, you’ll explore a range of bushcraft and rewilding practices: from primitive and modern fire-starting to foraging, wild crafting, shelter building, camping, and wild swimming. Each experience is about reconnecting with the land, building confidence in the outdoors and remembering what it feels like to truly belong in nature.

And when night falls, you’ll sleep beneath the stars in an International Dark Sky Reserve, it’s an unforgettable chance to be fully immersed in the wild.

WORKSHOP ITINERARY

DAY 1

Shelter building: Build your own den! Learn all about essential knots, finding shelter and setting up your own tarp which you will spend the night under.

Knife & saw skills: Learn how to use a knife and saw effectively whilst wild crafting your very own tools to help you survive in the outdoors.

Fire starting: Light your own fire just like our ancestors. We run over primitive and modern methods of fire lighting.

DAY 2

Foraging: We go on a foraging walk through the woodland and along the hedgerows to learn about the edible, medicinal and practical plants, trees and fungus that grow around us this spring.

Rewild activity: We head on a walk to and wild swim in the river Gwynant.

  • Level: Beginner friendly
  • Elevation: 100m elevation with lots of pauses as we forage

Primitive lunch: For lunch you make your own bushcraft bread and if we hit jackpot on our foraging walk we will add in our wild food finds.

Wild crafts: There is nothing more therapeutic than wild crafting in the woods, to end the weekend we make our own nettle cordage bracelets to bind in the weekend. You'll get to take all of the crafts you've made this weekend home with you too.

THE CAMP

We will be tucked away in Eryri, Snowdonia National Park, an international dark sky reserve. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a clear night so we can stargaze around the campfire or from our shelters.

The camp itself is a back to basics woodland campsite in a sheltered valley of Ancient Oak Woodland. It's bordered by the river Gwynant and has the magnificent Cader Idris as a backdrop. As for facilities, this campsite has toilets, hot showers and spring drinking water. Get ready to disconnect from the modern chaotic world and spend a weekend in absolute bliss.

If you are in a campervan and would prefer to stay in there, you are more than welcome to, please just let us know.

If you'd prefer to sleep in a tent or hammock, that is no problem either, there is plenty of space for either, again, please let us know.

Cefn Coed also has a variety of glamping accomodation. If you'd prefer to glamp, you can book directly through their website here. Please note, we do not manage these bookings, any queries you may have regarding this will be managed by Cefn Coed.
