About

Retreat Wild is brought to you by Nic, an outdoor enthusiast who understands firsthand the transformative power nature has on our physical and mental wellbeing. With a passion for bushcraft, self-sufficiency, preparedness, wilderness adventures and building community, Nic has created these unique bushcraft and rewilding retreats.

Having spent her childhood immersed in the wilderness; building dens, concocting mud pies and mastering the art of fire making, Nic’s journey has come full circle returning to her roots. After years in the corporate world, she rediscovered the magic of nature and the joy of nurturing our inner child.

Always eager to deepen her connection with the wild, Nic has gained NCFE Level 3 qualifications in Intermediate Bushcraft, Arctic Bushcraft and Campfire Cooking, as well as an ITC Level 3 Outdoor First Aid certification. She is also a member of the Association of Foragers, an international professional foragers association, further enriching her knowledge and practice of working with the natural world.

Through Retreat Wild, Nic invites you to embrace your wild within.

Our Values

At Retreat Wild, we’ve built our experiences around some key values to ensure you have an unforgettable time.

Skill building: Knowledge is power! That is why we teach bushcraft, survival and wild crafting skills to help women thrive in the outdoors.

Self sufficiency: Our aim is to help women be prepared and capable in the wild, as this builds confidence and independence.

Rewilding: Our workshops have a strong focus on rewilding. We aim to restore our connection with the natural world.

Community: Connection is vital for humans and with the digital world becoming more prevalent, in person connection has been lost. Retreat Wild brings like-minded women together to spend time in the wild.

Purpose: We aim to give our attendees purpose. We believe that having a purpose in the outdoors encourages people to engage with nature. Whether it’s foraging during a hike or grounding yourself in your garden, having a reason to connect with the natural world can enhance both your physical and mental well-being.

Fun: We know it might sound cliché, but our workshops are a place you can have fun in an enjoyable and supportive environment.

We plant trees!

Our workshops and retreats are spent immersed in the natural world, and we believe it’s important to give something back to the places that give us so much.

That’s why every booking helps fund native tree planting in the UK, supporting the restoration of our woodlands for future generations.

It’s our small way of saying thank you to Mother Nature; for grounding us, inspiring us, healing us and bringing us together.

Each tree in this illustration represents a woman who retreated into the wild with us during our first year in 2025. Together, they represent a growing community of women learning wilderness skills and reconnecting with themselves, each other and the natural world.
